Over the past 6 years Willie has been on several short-term mission trips to South and Central America with an organization called SCEI ( www.goscei.com ) Sports and Cultural Exchange International. We also had the opportunity to take our family to Panama in 2010 on one of these trips. One "handicap" on these trips is not knowing the Spanish language and relying on interpretors to talk with the people.
So we feel God calling us to step out in faith for the next step in this journey. Our family will be going to Costa Rica for a year and attending language school. Even though its a step with many questions, it comes with a sense of peace. Peace in knowing that we are following the call that Jesus has laid on our heart. And peace in knowing that when we don't know all the answers, He does and will work all things out in His time and for His glory.
We will attend school full-time and learn the language and Spanish culture. The children will also be in school. In preparation for this big move we are looking for someone to rent our house for a year. We also need to raise support for the year we are gone. With the change of culture, school, church and home we ask that you remember our family in prayer. These are huge changes but we are excited to see how God will use this time for His plan in our life.
