Day by day we strive to do our best...

Thank you all for your support.  We appreciate your prayers and gifts and letters.  Keep the letters coming, we appreciate each one of them.  We are learning so much and being stretched along with the learning.
God continues to bless us with health for which we are so grateful.

The children have adjusted well and are experiencing many new things here in Costa Rica, including the food, city life and walking ALOT!

The other Saturday morning there was a motorcycle delivering papers to the houses around our block.  His motorcycle needed some muffler work - it was so loud and really, who reads their paper at 4:00am.

We are understanding more and more as we spend our days here in this beautiful country.  Taxi drivers can be quite helpful in gently correcting your spanish and helping you with saying things correctly.  One taxi driver told us his son is studying in Erie, PA.

We have gotton used to the bus stopping outside our front door and riding it to different places around the city.  Grocery shopping here is so different.  After you are finished shopping you need to wait for a taxi.  The plus side of that is that it picks you up at the door when the rain is pouring down and you forgot your umbrella once again.  It cost about $.50 to ride the bus and about $3.00 to bring a taxi home from market or the store.  There are many local stores that we can walk to.  Anywhere from 2 doors down where there is a little corner store to a half hour walk to a big store and lots of stores in between.

Umbrellas are a nessecity here in Costa Rica.  It rains almost every day and some days it rains hard for hours.  Mowing the yard here is another new experience.  We have a (honda) machette that does the job quite well.  Another use for the machette is to cut open coconuts and drink the sweet coconut milk inside.  It is really healthy for you too.

Cody's 8th birthday is coming up in December and it will be the first birthday in our family since we are here.  I think it will be a little hard not to spend it with family.  If you would like to help celebrate his birthday you can mail cards but allow for about 10 days.  Although, getting mail or packages any day is a highlight.

Keep us in your prayers!
